Where we are going
HEALTHCARE never stands still so it is important we remain forward thinking and look to the future to develop our services – and staff – to meet the needs and expectations of the population we serve.
As a Foundation Trust, we intend to deliver the services people want and expect to have available in their local hospitals (for example diagnostic tests and surgery such as joint replacements) and the more specialist services which people travel to The James Cook University Hospital for, such as specialist heart services, radiotherapy, brain surgery and kidney treatments.
Our overall strategy to achieving this is centred on four key themes (corporate objectives) which are:
- Quality of care and patient safety (our top priority)
- Organisational capability (investing in our staff)
- Business sustainability (balancing the books/responding to change)
- Partnerships and engagement
Some of our key strategic areas we will continue to focus on are cancer, children's services, trauma and cardio-vascular services.
