Excellence in Practice Awards

Excellence in Practice logo

Every year the trust holds Excellence in Practice Awards which allows us to celebrate the hard work, achievement and good practice of staff across the organisation.

It also gives us the opportunity to formally recognise and thank people – clinical and non-clinical staff - for their work they do at our hospitals – The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

For the first time this year, we have opened up three awards to members of the public. Maybe you’ve been a patient for a long time and have always been impressed with the staff looking after you?

Perhaps you had specific concerns which were sorted out quickly and to your satisfaction without any fuss? If so, we would like to hear from you and welcome any nominations which support our core values of:

• Putting the needs of the patients at the centre of everything we do
• Continuously seeking to improve the service we deliver to patients
• Recognising staff that support, respect and value each other

The three award categories where we are seeking nominations are:

• Excellence in Patient Safety

Do you know an individual or team who is going the extra mile to provide excellence in patient safety?

• Excellence in Customer Care

We all have customers, whether they are patients, or people within or outside of the trust for whom we supply services. Do you know somebody or a team that provides excellent customer care to those they serve? Perhaps you have experienced it as a customer?

• Excellence in Working in Partnership Award

Have you experienced somebody or a team working across the usual boundaries of the workplace to make something new or special happen? Nominate them

The closing date for nominations is Monday 17 August and for more details please contact events co-ordinator Sarah O’Leary at sarah.oleary@stees.nhs.uk or ring 01642 282454.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 24th September.
