Clinical audit

What is clinical audit ?

The definition of clinical audit in the National Institute for Clinical Excellence publication “Principles for Best Practice in Clinical Audit” is:

“Clinical audit is a quality improvement process that seeks to improve patient care and outcomes through the systematic review of care against explicit criteria and the implementation of change”
