There is no inpatient (overnight) care for children at Friarage Hospital so it is important you know what to do if your child is unwell. The information on this page will help you to make the right choices if you are not sure where to go for treatment.
Changes to children's and maternity services
We now run a short-stay paediatric assessment unit (SSPAU) where staff assess, monitor and treat children who have been referred by their GP or who have open access arrangements in place.
The way we provide maternity services at the Friarage Hospital has now changed. We have a free-standing midwife-led unit at the Friarage Hospital - run by experienced midwives - for pregnant women who are medically fit, have had a normal pregnancy and are at low risk of complication.
