Car parking on the James Cook site

Please can patients/visitors be aware the hospital is particularly busy at the moment which can make parking on the site difficult. There are other ways you can get here, which are listed below.

By road

The hospital is situated on Marton Road (A172) and is clearly sign-posted from main routes such as the A66, A19 and A174. If you are a patient please try to arrange for a friend/relative to bring you to hospital as space is limited. Disabled parking is also available.

By bus

Local bus services provide regular links from Middlesbrough and most major towns in the North east. The major bus operators are Arriva, Stagecoach on Teesside and Leven Valley. By rail

The  James Cook University Hospital rail station is now in operation. The service, operated by Northern Rail, is on the Esk Valley line that connects Middlesbrough and Whitby, via Nunthorpe. The station is on the east side of the site and is a five to ten minute walk from the hospital’s South and Bridge entrances.
