Older people's medicine nurse recruitment

Enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated? Come and join us!

The James Cook University Hospital is looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated registered nurses to work on our older people’s medicine ward.

Come and join us on our newly refurbished ward which is due for completion in June 2019.

This is an exciting time to be part of our friendly and forward thinking team as we roll out the trust’s Frailty Strategy.

Many of the patients on our older people’s medicine ward will have a diagnosis of dementia along with complex medical problems. They will also require long term condition management. We pride ourselves on delivering coordinated, person-centred care.

This is an ideal opportunity to develop your skills and learn about a variety of medical conditions such as diabetes, renal, cardiac and respiratory medicine.  We also offer a bespoke training programme including dementia training and complex discharge planning.

We are recruiting registered nurses and mental health nurses to join our specialist team which includes dedicated nurse practitioners, older people’s medicine physicians and physiotherapists.

  • Nurses from non-acute or non NHS backgrounds are welcome to apply.
  • Full time and part time posts
  • Job share and flexible working will be considered – please call us to find out more!

Enquiries should be directed to matron Nicola Herraghty on 01642 850850 extension 54512.

This is nursing at its most complex and most rewarding!
