Cricket Day Event

Families are invited to attend a Charity Cricket Match in aid of Trinity Holistic Centre. This is our third family fun day supported by our partners Carillion and takes place on Saturday 10 July at Middlesbrough’s Cricket Club, Green Lane.

Project to support brain injury families

A unique support project for parents and carers of children with brain injuries – the first of its kind in the UK – has been launched to help families in Middlesbrough, Redcar and East Cleveland. The Family Support Project has been set up by local charity Matrix Neurological with funding from South Tees Clinical Commissioning Group’s Community Innovation Fund and support from staff at The James Cook University Hospital.

Friarage maternity unit promotes Breastfeeding Awareness Week

Midwives are opening the doors of Friarage maternity unit on Tuesday 21 June in support of National Breast Feeding Awareness Week. A tea party has been organised between 1pm and 3pm which is aimed at women who are breast feeding and also pregnant ladies.

Midwife professionals and healthcare assistants will be at the tea party to offer support and answer any queries people may have.

Award hopes for Parkinson’s unit

The Parkinson’s Advanced Symptoms Unit (PASU) at Redcar Primary Care Hospital has been shortlisted for a prestigious award, just nine months after opening. The unit, which provides rapid access, assessments,and home visits for patients with complications arising from their Parkinson’s Disease, has been shortlisted in the ‘Managing long-Term Conditions’ category of the Patient Safety Awards 2016.
