Patients are being urged to take their medication with them when they go into hospital. Statistics from The James Cook University Hospital reveal that as few as 35% of patients remember to pack any medication they are already using when they attend hospital.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in collaboration with Heart Valve Voice, the UK’s charity for heart valve disease, and The Royal Photographic Society has announced the launch of ‘Patient Portraits: A New You’, a photography competition encouraging keen photographers to capture heartfelt moments in time and convey what life after heart valve disease means to patients.
An extra date has been added to a series of engagement events to discuss the development of a long term, sustainable plan for the Friarage Hospital. Due to the popularity of the Thirsk event, South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has organised a further meeting on Wednesday 20 December in Thirsk and Sowerby Town Hall from 4pm to 6pm.
People are advised to stay home should they get Norovirus this winter as South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust launches its #DontSpreadTheDread campaign. Norovirus, also known as the winter vomiting bug, is highly contagious and the trust is reminding people not to visit hospitals, GP surgeries or care homes until they have been symptom free for 48 hours.
