Trust to showcase its shining stars

Do you know a health service “star” who deserves an award for going that extra mile to help a patient or improve a service?

Star Awards winners

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s annual Star Awards recognise the work of its staff, volunteers and fundraisers in both its community and hospital settings.

This includes The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, Redcar Primary Care Hospital, Guisborough Primary Care Hospital, East Cleveland Primary Care Hospital, Lambert Memorial Community Hospital in Thirsk, Friary Community Hospital in Richmond.

The trust is urging members of the public to put forward nominations for any teams or individuals who they believe deserve an extra special thank you.

Caroline Parnell, director of communications and engagement at the trust said: “You only have to read the thank you cards on our wards or the posts on our social media sites to see the huge impact our staff, volunteers and fundraisers have on people’s lives.

“Whether it’s the A&E staff who walked a dog for a blind patient, the catering team who impressed by providing for a patient’s gluten free diet or the child who came in with a minor injury but left smiling, these stories are only a glimpse of the amazing care, treatment and support our 9,000 staff provide every day.

“The Star Awards are your chance to recognise someone who really has made a difference to a patient or service at any of our hospitals or community services.

“So if you have been impressed by a team or individual at the trust we are urging you to tell us about it by going to our website and submitting your nomination.”
