The radiotherapy department at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is holding its annual careers open day on Sunday 19 November 2017. Those interested in a career in radiotherapy – including school leavers, college graduates, mature students and careers teachers – are welcome to call into the department, which is located near to the north entrance at James Cook between 11am and 1pm.  

No Delays in 7 Days

This week staff at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are gearing up for what they hope will be the perfect week in an ambitious drive to eliminate delays. The trust, which runs The James Cook University Hospital and the Friarage Hospital as well as a range of community services, launches its No Delays in 7 Days initiative tomorrow (Wednesday 11 October).

Staff and patients raised a cup to mark the start of building work on The Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre at the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The annual Macmillan Cancer Support charity event this year coincided with construction getting underway on the new multi-million pound cancer centre at the hospital, which is being funded by local philanthropist Sir Robert Ogden, Macmillan and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Taking pride of place on the walls at The James Cook University Hospital are three photographs of people who have transformed the lives of strangers. The emotive images are a tribute to patients who have selflessly donated organs to enable others to have life-saving transplants when there was nothing more could be done to save their own lives.
