We would like to find out whether we should be providing specific support for children and young people affected by a cancer diagnosis and/or other long term conditions at the Trinity Holistic Centre. We are holding two informal focus groups at the Trinity Holistic Centre, The James Cook University Hospital where you can come along and share your thoughts.
Linda Breckon will demonstrate various crafts at the next meeting of the Friarage Hospital’s breast cancer support group. The event takes place on Wednesday 18 February in the Scott Suite at the Northallerton hospital from 7pm to 9pm and new members are welcome to bring along a friend for an enjoyable evening with some audience participation.
The Macmillan information and support centres at James Cook and Friarage Hospitals are looking for volunteers to take on a number of roles including meeting and greeting centre users, providing advice, information and signposting to other local services, admin duties, supporting patients, carers and staff in clinical areas and offering a listening ear to anyone who needs it.
If you have been affected by breast cancer and you live in the North Yorkshire area then you are invited to attend the next meeting of the Friarage Hospital’s breast cancer support group. The open meeting takes place on Wednesday 21 January in the Scott Suite at the Northallerton hospital from 7pm to 9pm.
The Trinity Holistic Centre is set to pilot a photography project for men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and develop their photography skills with a digital camera including developing understanding of composition and expression of views through photography.
Specialist exercise consultant Leti Hawthorne will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Friarage Hospital’s breast cancer support group. New members are welcome to attend the meeting which will be held on Wednesday 19 November in the Scott Suite at the Northallerton hospital from 7pm to 9pm.
The Friarage Hospital’s breast cancer support group is holding an afternoon tea at Barkers Restaurant in Northallerton on Thursday 23 October from 2pm to 3pm. The group’s next meeting takes place in the hospital’s Scott Suite on Wednesday 15 October at 7pm and features a demonstration of hands on craft work by Linda Breckon.
