One-stop health shop to prepare for surgery!

A comprehensive health and wellbeing programme for patients due to have major surgery has been made a reality thanks to a £75,000 grant from the Health Foundation. Believed to be the first collaborative venture of its kind, a team of doctors, physiotherapists, exercise scientists, public health specialists and Allied Healthcare Professionals will be working together in a bid to improve patient health and wellbeing prior to surgery.

Good turnout prompts Trust to add extra date in Thirsk – Building a sustainable future for the Friarage

An extra date has been added to a series of engagement events to discuss the development of a long term, sustainable plan for the Friarage Hospital. Due to the popularity of the Thirsk event, South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has organised a further meeting on Wednesday 20 December in Thirsk and Sowerby Town Hall from 4pm to 6pm.

No Delays in 7 Days

This week staff at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are gearing up for what they hope will be the perfect week in an ambitious drive to eliminate delays. The trust, which runs The James Cook University Hospital and the Friarage Hospital as well as a range of community services, launches its No Delays in 7 Days initiative tomorrow (Wednesday 11 October).
