Coffee morning for MRI Scanner Appeal

A coffee morning in aid of the Friarage MRI Scanner Appeal will be held by South Tees Hospitals Charity team in Northallerton Town Hall on Wednesday 22 February from 9am to 1.30pm.

Paul Watkins, South Tees Charity’s head of fundraising, said:  “Our coffee mornings are a great way of supporting the scanner appeal, meeting our appeals team and enjoying some time out to relax. Everyone enjoys them and it also gives us the opportunity to chat to local people and keep them up to date on how the appeal is going.”

Construction work has now begun in the former special care baby unit at the Friarage Hospital where the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment, which is used to detect a wide range of conditions in almost any part of the body, will be based.

The scheme is expected to take until Spring 2017 although fundraising will continue until the equipment is delivered.
