Golfers will be taking to the fairways to help local charity – The Look A Head Cancer Campaign – at a special golf day at Rockcliffe Hall’s championship golf course at Hurworth on Wednesday 27 August.
The golf day will be followed by a three course charity dinner in the Rockcliffe banquet suite with an award winning chef. Guest speaker at the event will be former footballer, Sky sport presenter and throat cancer survivor, Gordon McQueen.

The Look A Head Cancer Campaign is a local charity covering Teesside, Durham and North Yorkshire. Its aim is to increase awareness of head and neck cancer and encourage people with suspicious symptoms to get checked out as soon as possible.
Golfers could win a BMW with a hole in one. Free access to practice facilities will be available on the day, bacon sandwiches will be provided and a shotgun tee off will provide a memorable start to the day.

Ear, nose and throat consultant, Anirvan Banerjee, said: “We wanted to do something to help Look a Head continue the important work they do in improving awareness of head and neck cancer with the public and health professionals.
“There is a high incidence of this type of cancer in the North east and we wanted to do something that would benefit local people. We hope people will swing into action and help us make the event a success.”
