Santa will be giving one health-conscious Teesside man an extra present this Christmas!
South Tees health improvement team has joined forces with the Middlesbrough Cycle Centre and other partners to offer someone a cycle and cycling equipment prize (approximately £350 worth) as part of a first and second prize draw.
The offer is open to anyone who attends the men’s health drop-in at the Trinity Centre, North Ormesby, on 18 October, 15 November and 20 December, running between the times of 5pm and 8pm.
It is all part of a continuing drive to provide the ‘Waist Removal’ health drop in programme to actively encourage men to do more activity, lose weight, learn some new cooking skills and talk about health in a ‘man friendly’ environment. It is run by South Tees’ health improvement team, in partnership with Middlesbrough Cycle Centre, Middlesbrough Council and Community Service Volunteers – CSV-RSVP
All men over the age of 16 are invited to take part. All they need to do is attend the monthly drop in at least once between October and December to be entered into a prize draw to win a bike with equipment or a second prize of some great cycling accessories including a safety helmet.
Richie Andrew, a health improvement specialist for South Tees, said “This is a perfect prize for Christmas! The bike is worth up to £300 and includes an impressive specification, including disc brakes and suspension, as well as a lightweight frame.
“What’s more, each of the three drop-ins that someone attends, they get an extra entry, so can earn up to three entries per person. The draw will be made at the December drop in with the prize being delivered before the Christmas break.
“The trust also encourages its staff to live a healthier lifestyle, such as travelling to work by bike, so staff members would be more than welcome to come along and join in.”
