Following the fantastic successes for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics, do you feel motivated to do more exercise and loose a few pounds on the way to a healthier lifestyle?
You do? Then you might want to take advantage of a free weekly drop-in service in the Trinity Centre, North Ormesby, hosted by the health improvement team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The team appreciate that not everyone wants to be a medal-winning athlete, but they are available to help those who sat and watched their sporting heroes on the television, get back in shape themselves.
The LEAN (lifestyle, energy, activity and nutrition) programme is delivered by health professionals to support you to achieve realistic goals.
The drop-in sessions at the Trinity Centre, North Ormesby, are on Thursdays between 5pm and 7pm and will cover a different topic each week. They include a 30 minute light health walk and a chance to get weighed.
The service aims to help individuals to limit further weight gain; achieve a modest weight loss; get into a regular eating pattern; balance the types of food that they eat; become more physically active; learn new lifestyle skills and be able to sustain their changes.
There are several different programmes and all potential weight management clients are screened by a qualified weight management advisor to determine their suitability for the service as well as their programme preference.
