Take advantage of a free NHS heart check

Blood pressure check

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering a series of FREE community-based healthy heart checks.

The 30-minute healthy heart checks will be conducted by NHS nursing staff and will be available to anyone who fits the criteria.

Those coming forward for the checks must be aged between 40 and 74 and have no existing cardio-vascular disease, this includes high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, stroke or high cholesterol. They also must not be on medication for high blood pressure or cholesterol or have had a healthy heart check within the previous five years.

The checks will be operated on an appointment basis only and will take place at the following venues;

  • Monday 15 July: Corus Steel Club, Dormanstown, Redcar , 10am – 6pm
  • Tuesday 16 July: Loftus Youth & Community Centre, 9.30am – 4.30pm
  • Wednesday 17 July: Boots Pharmacy, Westgate, Guisborough, 11am – 7pm
  • Friday 19 July: Berwick Hills Library, Middlesbrough, 10am – 5.45pm
