MB based on Skippers Lane, Middlesbrough has supported local good causes since its establishment almost 30 years ago in 1987.

The Middlesbrough local hardware and decor showroom has chosen oncology ward 14, which looks after cancer patients at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough as their first official charity partner.

Enthusiastic workers at MB are aiming to raise £5,000 for the ward and they are off to a flying start raising £3,000 already with a series of fundraising events including staff taking part in marathons, abseiling from the Transporter Bridge and sky diving

MB has a full calendar of events taking place throughout the year to help reach the target.

Eleven members of staff have committed to taking part in the gruelling Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on Saturday 22 August. They will tackle 24.5 miles and three mountains in only 12 hours all in aid of ward 14.

You can sponsor their efforts by visiting www.justiving.com/MBforward14 or pop in to their shop at 6 Wallis Road, Skippers Lane Industrial Estate, Middlesbrough, TS6 6JB.
