The Macmillan cancer information and support centre at the Friarage Hospital is looking for volunteers with an interest in helping people and who can spare some time to help with their important work.
An ideal opportunity to help a worthwhile cause which benefits local people, the work involves helping the staff with the day-to-day running of the centre, making drinks and chatting to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment and supporting the staff on the Friarage Hospital’s Mowbray suite.
It would suit people with three hours or more to spare each week and a full training programme will be provided along with an induction period. It is voluntary and unpaid but travel expenses can be provided.
Anyone interested in volunteering, or who knows someone who might be willing to help out can contact Amanda Cormican, Macmillan cancer information adviser, on telephone 01609 764033, email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
