The careers open day on Saturday 4 October 2014 will include information on each job role, advice on choosing university courses and a tour of the department.

The Macmillan cancer information and support centre at The James Cook University Hospital is holding a volunteer open day on Thursday 18 September. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer is invited to drop into the centre, situated near to the hospital’s north entrance, from 10am to 2pm to find out more about what the role involves.

Funded by Macmillan until autumn 2015, the integration of cancer care project takes a close look at existing services and how patients move through the healthcare system, covering everything from diagnosis to recovery support and end of life care.

Environmental award for exceptional team

Staff on ward 14 at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough are celebrating after achieving a Macmillan Quality Environmental Mark. The quality mark is used to assess whether cancer care environments meet the standards required by people living with cancer.
