Chief executive ranked in ‘top 10’ most influential clinical leaders

The chief executive of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Professor Tricia Hart, has been ranked in the ‘top 10’ of most influential clinical leaders in England. Professor Hart was placed at number ten in the HSJ’s clinical leaders list, launched this year, which looked for clinicians influencing policy, innovation and service transformation.

Waist Removal service expands

Following on from the success of the monthly men’s health service ‘Waist removal’ in Middlesbrough, the same free service is now available in Redcar twice a month. The new free men’s health service will take place on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month, beginning on 13 June, at the Fire Escape, Redcar Fire Station, Trunk Road, Redcar from 5pm to 8pm and is open to all males aged 18 and over.

College strikes gold

Middlesbrough College has picked up a highly sought after North East Better Health at Work Gold Award. The award is given to companies who meet strict criteria, including actively promoting health issues, banishing bullying and involving the wider community in health improvement events.

Commendation for care team

The trust’s specialist palliative care team has been commended at the 2012 Macmillan Excellence Awards. The Hambleton and Richmondshire specialist palliative care team from South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust received a commendation in the team awards – for teams who have made a significant contribution to their service or produced an exemplary piece of work.
