Support group gets crafty

Linda Breckon will demonstrate various crafts at the next meeting of the Friarage Hospital’s breast cancer support group. The event takes place on Wednesday 18 February in the Scott Suite at the Northallerton hospital from 7pm to 9pm and new members are welcome to bring along a friend for an enjoyable evening with some audience participation.

Panto to be screened to patients

Newcastle Theatre Royal’s pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is going to be screened for free on Channel 34 on the bedside TVs in The James Cook University Hospital on Tuesday 23 December at 2pm, with repeat screenings at 4pm and 6pm.

William Hague supports Friarage £2m scanner appeal at fundraising dinner

The Friends of the Friarage Hospital are presenting a fundraising dinner as part of their ambitious appeal in partnership with South Tees Hospitals Charity – to raise £2million for an MRI scanner at the Friarage Hospital. The Rt Hon William Hague MP will be special guest and speaker at the prestigious event giving an exclusive speech on his ‘26 years an MP: highlights and experiences’.

Specialist exercise consultant to give talk

Specialist exercise consultant Leti Hawthorne will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Friarage Hospital’s breast cancer support group. New members are welcome to attend the meeting which will be held on Wednesday 19 November in the Scott Suite at the Northallerton hospital from 7pm to 9pm.

The Great Trust Bake Off

The Great Trust Bake Off is being organised at the Trinity Holistic Centre to raise funds for the trust’s breast cancer related charities as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Creations should be displayed on the correct table at the Trinity Holistic Centre (based at The James Cook University Hospital) by 11am on Monday 20 October ready for judging at 11.10am with a donation of £1 per entry.

Singers on song to boost heart fund campaign

An eclectic range of music is set to be heard in the main thoroughfare in The James Cook University Hospital on Tuesday 21 October.

The Crystal Singers will be performing in the atrium from noon till around half past one, entertaining passers-by with songs both old and contemporary. The singers will be looking for donations which will all go towards the South Cleveland Heart Fund’s latest fundraising campaign to improve and increase heart scanning services at James Cook.
