The Friarage Hospital’s breast cancer support group is inviting people to join them for afternoon tea on Thursday 24 October. The event is supported by Barkers of Northallerton and takes place in the restaurant at Barkers from 2pm to 3pm.

For ten years patients under the care of a specialist cancer consultant (oncologist) have been benefiting from therapies, ranging from aromatherapy to acupuncture, provided to support people through their conventional cancer treatment. Now as the service based in the holistic cancer care centre on the hospital site prepares to celebrate its tenth anniversary, South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is inviting local people to an open afternoon at the centre to seek their views on plans to re-vamp the service.
Following on from the success of the monthly men’s health service ‘Waist removal’ in Middlesbrough, the same free service is now available in Redcar twice a month. The new free men’s health service will take place on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month, beginning on 13 June, at the Fire Escape, Redcar Fire Station, Trunk Road, Redcar from 5pm to 8pm and is open to all males aged 18 and over.
