Plans are already in place to tackle infection at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust following today’s announcement that Monitor is taking further action to cut rates of Clostridium difficile. In 2014/2015 the trust reported 76 cases against a target of 49 and already a number of actions have been taken ahead of today’s announcement.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust today welcomed the publication of the Care Quality Commission’s report following its inspection of the organisation in December 2014. The trust was given an overall rating of ‘requires improvement’ for providing safe and effective care although inspectors found services were caring, responsive and well led.
Midwives and staff at the Friarage maternity centre are opening their doors to the general public for the first time next week to showcase the excellent services that are still available for women and their babies.
Among the visitors will be Cathy Warwick, chief executive of the Royal College of Midwives, who will officially ‘open’ the centre and meet the team who work there.
