Health trust ranked among the best in country

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been ranked among the best in the country in a comprehensive review by the health service regulator. The Care Quality Commission’s new hospital inspection programme places 161 trusts across the country into six bands according to performance in 150 key areas. South Tees is one of only 37 trusts nationally and two in the North East to be rated as Band 6 – the lowest risk group.

Annual members meeting

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is holding its Annual Members Meeting on Tuesday 23 July 2013 in the academic centre at The James Cook University Hospital. This year there will be a market place event from 11am to 1pm where some of the trust’s achievements from the last year will be showcased. The formal meeting will take place at 12 noon in the centre’s Ian Haslock lecture theatre.

Trust wins thirteenth annual award for excellence

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been named as one of the CHKS 40Top Hospitals for the thirteenth year running. The 40Top award is given to the 40 top performing CHKS client trusts and is based on the evaluation of 22 key performance indicators covering safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.

Trust committed to being dementia friendly

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has successfully formally committed to becoming a dementia friendly organisation. The trust is committed to address the five conditions to becoming dementia friendly after being accepted by the Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) and South Tees is the largest trust and one of the first to have committed formally to the DAA’s ‘Call to Action’.

The dementia team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is urging people to dig out their photographs of local scenes from years gone by. As part of an on-going project to make the trust more dementia friendly the team have invested in five digital interactive screens from My Life Software™.
