In 1957 the Friends of the Friarage – then known as the League of Friends – were formed to ‘support the work of the Northallerton hospitals by means of voluntary assistance.’ Now in their 60th year, the Friends are celebrating their Diamond Jubilee having raised in excess of £5million for the Friarage Hospital and the local community.

South Tees Hospitals Charity will be holding their final Christmas coffee morning in aid of the MRI Scanner Appeal in Northallerton Town Hall on Thursday 1 December from 9am to 1.30pm.
A touching concert tribute to celebrate the life of dedicated North Yorkshire Councillor Tony Hall will be held on Sunday 27 November 2016 from 2.30pm. ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’ will be an afternoon of Cllr Hall’s favourite songs and music at the Forum and was also the title of his blog which celebrated Northallerton life.
The annual Kilburn Feast – a tradition which goes back hundreds of years and now raises money for local charities and good causes – this year supported the Friarage Hospital’s MRI Scanner Appeal – a joint fundraising campaign between South Tees Hospitals Charity and the Friends of the Friarage Hospital. A total of £750 was raised towards getting this essential piece of equipment to the Northallerton Hospital.
Those whose lives have been saved thanks to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are getting behind a campaign to bring a new scanner to The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton. Cath Crouch, from Northallerton, shared her selfie on @STeesCharity Twitter as part of the #MyReasonIs campaign stating: “MRI saved my life when they found out I had thrombosis”.
