South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is thought to be the first NHS trust in the country to receive six Macmillan quality awards. The Trinity Holistic Centre is the latest service to receive the prestigious Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM) which demonstrates to staff, visitors and patients that a facility is welcome and accessible to all, amongst other standards.

In a beautiful ivory, embellished gown – kindly donated by Laura Day bridal wear at less than a day’s notice – Annalise, 45, who is a cancer patient on ward 14 at The James Cook University Hospital, dazzled.
Tears were shed as the Redcar couple made their vows in front of family, friends and the dedicated nurses and hospital staff who have cared for Annalise and supported her family.
The Trinity Holstic Centre will need to find an additional £2,200 this year – to replace two beds that have broken down in the last week. More than 100 patients a month suffering from cancer and other long-term conditions could miss out on complementary therapies, after the two beds broke down within days.
The Trinity Holistic Centre is running a series of free music workshops for young people who have been affected by cancer or other long term conditions. Big Noise workshops will be held throughout August and September to encourage 10 to 24-year-olds to try something new and meet others their age with similar health issues
The James Cook University Hospital has started a new specialist counselling programme for children and young people who have been affected by cancer. The counselling sessions will be delivered by an experienced, qualified counsellor from the Trinity Holistic Centre which provides support to families affected by cancer and long term conditions.
