The family of a grandmother who was discharged from hospital after recovering from coronavirus are among more than 150 people that have volunteered to help South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust during the pandemic.

More than 130 people have volunteered to help South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust during the coronavirus pandemic. The volunteers, who signed up through the trust’s therapeutic support programme, have been providing valuable support to patients and staff across the trust’s sites as well as promoting positive engagement and contributing to a positive hospital experience for everyone.
When South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust introduced its therapeutic care volunteer scheme in 2013 there were eight volunteers – today we have a growing community of more than 500! And this year sees the launch of our Therapeutic Support @ South Tees programme with all volunteers brought together under one team to help make a real difference to our patients and visitors.
