Do you know a nurse, healthcare assistant or midwife who has gone above and beyond the call of duty?
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for nominations for its annual Nightingale Awards which recognise the hard work and dedication of nursing and midwifery staff at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, Friarage Hospital in Northallerton and local community hospitals and health services.
Whether it’s an individual who has gone that extra mile to make a patient’s hospital stay more comfortable or a team who have worked extra hard to improve the service they deliver, the trust wants to hear who you think deserves this special award for 2015/16.
Last year’s winner was neonatal staff nurse Sarah Brooks who was recognised for her outstanding contribution to patient care. Sarah also won the staff nurse award.
Nurse consultant Nicky Hand is part of the team in charge of organising the prestigious award ceremony which is now in its eleventh year. She said: “These awards are an opportunity to recognise nurses and midwives who you feel have gone that extra mile. Staff are always extremely proud to receive a nomination from a colleague, patient or carer.”
To nominate go to www.southtees.nhs.uk/about/awards/nightingale/ and submit your nomination form before the end of February.
