Mowbray suite is based at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton and provides day case treatments to patients from a range of specialities including oncology, haematology, rheumatology and respiratory.
We provide a range of services including chemotherapy, transfusion support and supportive therapies for chronic disease management.
We provide open-access for patients at risk of immunosuppression due to illness or treatment regimes have access to the oncology and haematology services 24/7. Patients that require this service will be advised at their consultation and given contact information.
- Refreshments – tea, coffee and soft drinks are available for patients
- There are DVD players available on request however if you wish to use one please bring along your own headphones and DVDs.
A complementary therapy service is available in the Mowbray suite providing a range of therapies to our patients and their carers including acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, aromatherapy and relaxation treatments. There is no charge made for this service, however the ongoing funding of the service is enabled through kind charitable donations to the unit fund.
Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre
The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre based in the Mowbray suite at the Friarage Hospital offers a relaxed, friendly and confidential environment and welcomes anyone whose life has been affected by cancer to drop in to share their concerns with one of the dedicated team of staff and trained volunteers. The centre is open Monday to Thursdays from 10am to 4pm.
