We provide comprehensive foot care for patients with the most serious diabetic foot complications. We hold daily podiatry clinics, offer ward consultations for patients with a diabetic foot problem while an in-patient and work in the 3 specialist Diabetic Foot Clinics run by the foot multidisciplinary team which includes, consultant diabetologists, a vascular surgeon, an orthopaedic surgeon, a microbiologist, nurses, plaster technician, orthotists and podiatrists.

I work everyday alongside a podiatrist to apply total contact casts to offload the pressure around an ulcer or to support the fractures resulting from Charcot. Total contact casting is seen as the gold standard treatment for these conditions and is recommended by NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence).

I hold a dietitian clinic where I can review your food choices and give dietary advice.

I am an educator for our Dose Adjustment For Normal Eating (DAFNE) education programme, these courses provide structured education for people with type 1 diabetes.

Together with the diabetes specialist nurse I see patients in our Diabetes Joint Education clinic which offers complex education on carbohydrate counting along with DAFNE refresher appointments.
