Neuro-Rehabilitation

The neuro-rehabilitation ward at The James Cook University Hospital (ward 26) looks after patients who need to stay in hospital after having a treatment/procedure on the neurosurgery or neurology wards, or who are referred into the unit for specialist rehabilitation.

Our medical and nursing staff care for both male and females, aged 16 years and over, but other professionals are also involved with our patients’ care including:

  • physiotherapists
  • occupational therapists
  • dietitians
  • speech and language therapists

  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) & Chronic Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP)
  • Stroke (CVA)
  • Amputation
  • Acquired Brain Injury
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Neuro-immunological disease
