Outpatient Escort Volunteers



Charity overview: The aim of the Friends of the Friarage is to support the work of the Friarage Hospital and the health centres of Hambleton and Richmondshire in providing the best possible healthcare to every patient, above the standards that NHS funding alone allows.
Role: Outpatients escort service volunteer
Responsible to: Julie Williams, outpatients department
Summary of role:

To offer a friendly welcome to patients and guiding them to the correct area within the outpatients department.

This service plays a significant role in the promotion of the image and work of the charity.

Description of tasks: To deal sensitively and politely with patients.
Time commitment: Weekday mornings and afternoons.
Skills and qualifications: Friendly and helpful with good communication skills.
Training and support:

Induction training on commencement of the role.

Ongoing training and support will be given as required.

Willingness to undertake mandatory training in accordance with the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requirements.

Donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).

General tasks:

To act within the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Code of Conduct.
