Thank you so much for your kind donation to Our Hospitals Charity, which will go to support The James Cook University Hospital, Friarage Hospital and our community wards and health services.
Whether you’ve ran, swam, baked, shaved your head or something else, thank you so much for supporting our charity!
Not specifying where you would like your donation to go gives us flexibility to support and target services with the most need. However, you may wish to donate to a specific ward or appeal, in which case this should be clearly stated with your donation.

Drop off donations at James Cook and Friarage
We have charity offices at both James Cook Hospital and the Friarage Hospital. If you would like to pay in your fundraising money whilst visiting our hospitals you can do so very easily at one of our charity offices where your donation will be gratefully received and a receipt provided.
Gift Aid
Increase your donation by 25p for every £1 given!
The Inland Revenue allows charities to claim back income tax as a gift aid on cash and cheque donations from individuals who are UK taxpayers.
The tax is claimed back from the Inland Revenue at no extra cost to you – the donor – providing you have paid an amount of income/capital gains tax equal to the tax reclaimed on the donation.
The charity can only claim Gift Aid if the donor has provided their name and address, including postcode, and confirmed that they wish Gift Aid to be claimed on their donation.
To allow us to claim the extra 25% download and fill in our Gift Aid form and return it to the charitable team along with the donation and accompanying correspondence.
Leave a gift in your will
Leaving a gift to Our Hospitals Charity in your will is the greatest honour we can receive and can make a lasting difference to our patients and staff. The process is straightforward and our charitable status (Charity No.1056061) could reduce the overall amount of inheritance tax you’re liable to pay.

Donate in memory
However you choose to remember your loved one, we are here to support you in any way we can.
There are many ways to make a donation in memory:
- Make a donation in their name – Donate in the name of your loved one online or through the charity office. You may also wish to do a cheque presentation and hand over your donation to the staff or ward that cared for your loved one.
- Hold a collection at the funeral or memorial ceremony – Asking friends and family to make a donation in lieu of flowers is a meaningful way for everyone to make a contribution.
- Do your own fundraising or take part in an event or challenge – Organising an event in memory of your loved one is a great way to celebrate their life and raise money in their memory.
You can make your donation online through our JustGiving page.
