The James Cook University Hospital

Based in Middlesbrough, James Cook provides a 24-hour emergency department, regional major trauma centre and a wide range of specialist services.

Friarage Hospital

Based in Northallerton, the Friarage has a 24-hour urgent treatment centre and is the trust’s main site for planned orthopaedic surgery.

Community locations

We provide local healthcare services in a number of community wards and venues across Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Hambleton and Richmondshire.

Stopping the spread of flu

We have made the clinical decision to introduce the mandatory wearing of fluid resistant masks for all staff in specific wards and services to help limit the spread of flu and other respiratory illnesses. We respectfully encourage patients and visitors to also wear a mask – however this is at your discretion.

University Hospitals Tees

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have formally agreed to form a group to enable closer working across the two organisations. This is not a merger. Both trusts remain as separate organisations – keeping their own existing identities and names – but going forward, when they are working together, they can now collectively be known as University Hospitals Tees.
