The chief executive of the group partnership of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has expressed her gratitude to staff as she welcomed the results of the annual, nationwide NHS staff survey which show both trusts as being above the national average in a number of subject areas.
The survey, which is open to all NHS colleagues across the country, asks a variety of questions to capture a real-time picture of how staff think and feel about their role in the NHS.
Group chief executive Stacey Hunter said: “I want to thank all of our staff for making their views known and for expressing their opinions that our trusts are great places to work.
“Since taking up my role in February, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and talking to hundreds of my new colleagues, across all of our sites.
“One thing that has come through, time and again, is that sense of commitment and compassion that working for the NHS inspires, particularly in looking after local people.
“I’ve very pleased how the staff survey supports these views.”
Colleagues at both trusts rated their organisations as being above the national average in the themes of ‘we are compassionate and inclusive’, ‘we each have a voice that counts’ and overall morale.
Both trusts also saw improvements on how staff view the opportunities to work flexibly.
Stacey continued:
“We will look into the areas where we can build for improvement too, gathering more views from staff and patients making the Tees Valley an even better place to live, learn and work.”
