Richmond Community Therapy Service
Who we are and what we do?
The Hambleton and Richmondshire Community Therapy Service is a team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, therapy assistant practitioners and therapy assistants. The team provides an individualised, goal specific, rehabilitation service to adult (18 and over) residents throughout the Hambleton and Richmondshire area.
Following your assessment, we may make regular visits to work with you on an agreed treatment plan. This will be discussed with you during the assessment process.
Who do we work with?
We work with adults following illness, injury or a change in ability who require rehabilitation. We also offer help to support families and carers with advice and education.
What happens during an appointment?
At the first visit, you will be assessed by the most appropriate member of the team. Should you require further treatment, this will be explained and planned with you.
We will encourage you to actively participate in your rehabilitation programme and further visits may be made by a team member who will work with you according to the agreed treatment plan. This will be reviewed regularly depending on your progress.
If you have any questions or concerns throughout the process, please speak with the team member who carries out your visits or contact the department using the details below.
Hospital admissions
If you are admitted to hospital for more than 48 hours, we will discharge you from our service and will require a re-referral to continue your therapy after your discharge from hospital. Please speak to the staff on the unit when in hospital regarding this.
Safety
During our visits, if you are a smoker, please refrain from smoking, and please keep any pets under control.
