What matters to you most when it comes to the hospital and healthcare services in your local area?
University Hospitals Tees (UHT) is holding a number of public listening events to encourage patients, relatives and carers to help shape the future of local healthcare services.
The hospital group – which includes North Tees and Hartlepool and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts – delivers specialist services to a population of 1.85 million.
On an average day its teams provide 2,598 outpatient appointments, admit 637 people to hospital and treat 1,010 people in urgent and emergency care.
But like all NHS organisations, UHT is facing an increasing number of challenges including the need to reduce waiting lists, balance financial and workforce pressures and care for a growing population.
Despite this there are some exciting opportunities ahead as teams look to embrace more digital technologies and explore new ways of working together to ensure patients continue to receive the highest standards of care.
If you, or someone you care for, has used UHT hospital or community services in recent months – including The James Cook University Hospital, University Hospital of North Tees, Friarage Hospital and University Hospital of Hartlepool – please take 10 minutes to share your views by completing the UHT online survey or attending a UHT roadshow event on one of the following dates:
- Wednesday 11 March – Northallerton Library from 1pm to 4pm
- Wednesday 18 March – Stockton Wellbeing Hub from 10am to 12noon
- Thursday 19 March – Hartlepool College of Further Education from 9am to 12noon
- Wednesday 25 March – Middlesbrough Central Library from 9am to 12noon
- Tuesday 31 March – Redcar Library and Community Hub from 9am to 12noon
The survey or drop-in sessions are a chance to capture how health and care across the region should be working to reflect the needs of the people who live here, the real issues and opportunities for all of the communities University Hospitals Tees supports.
