We have over 70 staff working across the trust as dedicated research delivery staff. These include research nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, data assistants and trial coordinators.
They work alongside the patient’s clinical team to assist with recruiting patients into studies and making sure all of the trial related procedures are carried out and data is collected as required.
There are seven research team leaders who oversee and manage the research teams.
Set up and governance team
We have a team of seven people who assist with the set up, governance and oversight of studies that we run in the trust. These include research facilitators, administrators, and a departmental administrator.
They make sure that all of the studies we open are safe, have the necessary approvals in place and support needed from within the trust.
You can email the team at [email protected]
Our research and development director, TVRA associate director, TVRA clinical and operations manager and TVRA governance manager are responsible for making sure we deliver on our research and development strategy and are responsible for looking after all of our research and development staff.
Chief investigator support team
We have a dedicated team of staff to help our trust staff develop credible and scientifically robust research projects of our own.
They help with every stage of the research project from its very first idea to its completion.
Any company or individual wishing to engage with our clinical staff to develop a project should contact the CI support team in tandem at [email protected]
For every study that takes place we need a principal investigator (PI) identified as someone to take overall responsibility for running the study in our trust, supported by the research delivery staff.
Research clinical support service staff
Research can sometimes mean a change to a patient’s drug treatment, additional scans or blood tests.
Our pharmacy, radiology and pathology departments have dedicated research staff to assist with a wide range of studies and our work is supported by the wider staff within these departments too.
