Biography
Appointed in 2004, Anirvan Banerjee is a consultant at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, UK. He is the director of the North East Regional Cochlear Implant Programme (NERCIP). He is currently a council member and trustee of the British Cochlear Implant Group (BCIG).
Having completed his higher surgical training in Cambridge, Anirvan undertook his fellowship in Australia. He is regularly invited as guest lecturer for many international meetings as far apart as Canada and Thailand.
He is a past secretary of ENT UK and has been a council member of the otology section of the Royal Society of Medicine. He has been the co-lead for commercial research in ENT for the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network.
Anirvan is the ENT surgeon to Middlesbrough Football Club.
