FOR the first time ever, the trust's base of skull team has organised the prestigious annual meeting of the UK’s leading society for skull base surgery - and it could be the best in a generation, with nearly all the world's top skull base experts agreeing to present at the same event!
The British Skull Base Society meeting takes place from midday Thursday 26 January to lunchtime on Friday 27 January 2023 at Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham.
Clinicians and health care professionals will come together to cover a range of key topics including developing paraganglioma guidelines, paediatric skull base surgery, surgical complications and proton beam therapy, as well as a stimulating panel discussion on patient management dilemmas.
A huge honour
Mr Nav Ahmad, consultant neurotologist and skullbase surgeon at the trust and chair of the organising committee (pictured) said: “It is a huge honour for our team to be chosen to organise and host this prestigious meeting for the first time ever in the North of England.
We have the most internationally renowned speakers from North America, across Europe and of course, from our very own trust.
“The conference programme offers something for everyone and promises to be a fantastic event, both academically and for networking.
“There will even be a parallel programme for allied health care professionals and nurses, with a day rate available for those who cannot make it to both days.
“It’s a great opportunity to meet with colleagues, enhance careers with new connections and pick the brains of some of the best skull base experts in the world.”
