Did you know adults over 18 years can have a free heart check at the Wensleydale agricultural show on Saturday 24 August?
As well as having a great day out and enjoying all the show’s attractions, whether you have symptoms, or not, this is a great opportunity to pop along, get checked out and give yourself peace of mind.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with Heartbeat Alliance and other partners have joined together to host a healthy heart event to raise awareness amongst the rural community around cardiovascular disease and helping beat heart failure.
Andy Turley, cardiology consultant said:
"We know that if we spot signs and symptoms early enough, we can prevent the progression of heart disease. Early intervention and diagnosis can reduce the number of patients becoming unwell and ultimately gives better health outcomes.
“We will be able to provide advice and information on making healthier lifestyle choices. These are small and simple steps that can be adopted into new daily routines.
“This is a great opportunity to inform and give adults the chance to learn about the risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease by offering free healthy heart checks.”
The roadshow is open to everyone.
