The University Hospitals Tees digital programme team has been shortlisted for three awards celebrating excellence in technical innovation and patient-focused care.
The Digital Skills Development Network – which supports leadership, professional development and the sharing of best practice across the NHS – will host its annual awards ceremony in February.
Only five awards will be presented on the night, with University Hospitals Tees named in three categories.
Rising Star Award

Project implementation lead Natalie Williams, who lives in Middlesbrough, has been shortlisted for the Digital, Data and Technology Rising Star Award.
Natalie said: “I am incredibly honoured to have been nominated by my team, let alone shortlisted, for this award.
“This recognition reflects the fantastic work of our digital team and the dedication of the wonderful staff I work with every day. Together, we’re committed to delivering excellence and driving digital change that improves patient care and supports clinical workflows.
“I feel exceptionally fortunate to come into work each day and be part of a team so focused on meaningful digital developments. I’m really looking forward to an evening that celebrates everyone’s achievements – and hopefully bringing home an award!”
Outstanding Contribution Award

Project implementation lead Amy McTaggart, from Ingleby Barwick, has been shortlisted for the Digital, Data and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award.
Amy said: “To be shortlisted for this award is a real honour. I’m incredibly grateful for the recognition from both the digital programme team and the Skills Development Network.
“This nomination reflects the outstanding collaboration that made the implementation of electronic patient records such a success. It simply wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership, engagement and commitment of pharmacy, nursing and medical colleagues across University Hospitals Tees.
“To be recognised alongside such inspiring individuals is a significant achievement, and I look forward to celebrating with everyone at the ceremony.”
Automation and Efficiency Award
The third shortlisted award is the Digital, Data and Technology Automation and Efficiency Award. This nomination recognises the role a new digital ‘patient wellness questionnaire’ has played in the implementation of Martha’s Rule, a national initiative aimed at ensuring patients and families can easily request a clinical review if they are worried about their loved one’s condition deteriorating.
The award shortlisting follows the recent announcement of the University Hospitals Tees’ digital team being nominated for five Health Service Journal digital awards and is another sign of the team’s excellence and commitment to patient care.
