Christmas came early for young patients at The James Cook University Hospital this week.
Our Hospitals Charity opened a new summerhouse in the paediatric play area which now provides an alternative clinic space for children and young people who may feel overwhelmed about coming into hospital.
The outdoor clinic area has been built and furnished thanks to a generous donation from SABIC which was made in memory of Jack Miller, the son of one of their employees. Jack had a genetic condition and was cared for at James Cook.
Jack’s parents, Andy and Debbie, and brother Charlie helped design the new facility and were proud to officially cut the ribbon to declare it open.
The youngsters were treated to a gift from Santa and also got to meet miniature therapy horses Taz and Hazel.
A huge thank you to everyone involved for making this happen especially Jack’s family, SABIC, Santa Claus Visits, KL Pony Therapy and all our amazing children’s ward staff.
