A hospital charity that has been at the forefront of enhancing care at hospitals and community sites has welcomed a new corporate supporter.
Our Hospitals Charity, the official fundraising arm for The James Cook University Hospital, Friarage Hospital and community healthcare sites across Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Hambleton and Richmondshire, has welcomed Cumbria Waste Group as its official corporate supporter.
Cumbria Waste Group (CWG) is the largest provider of bespoke waste collection, waste disposal and recycling services in Cumbria with over 4,000 customers across the North of England and Southern Scotland.
This includes gifting generous items such as a signed Boro shirt and ball, which will be part of the charity’s Christmas raffle; opportunities for some of the young patients to wave Boro flags pitch side on matchday, tickets to watch Middlesbrough FC play at the Riverside Stadium and a visit from MFC mascot Rory the Lion – to name a few.
Recently, CWG and MFC Foundation came together to gift matchday tickets to a lucky young patient, Clayton Hill and his family – which left Clayton “buzzing” as he underwent treatment on the paediatric unit.
Paul Killick, area sales manager for Cumbria Waste Group said: “We are thrilled to be a new corporate supporter of Our Hospitals Charity and hope this partnership brings smiles, excitement, and lasting memories to some deserving children and their families over the next three years.”
Our Hospitals Charity fundraising manager Lisa Meehan said: “We are grateful to Cumbria Waste Group and our friends at the Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation for their generous donations to our patients.
“Through their support and help, we can provide some joy to many young patients and their families, who are often going through such a difficult time.
“We know that these donations will be greatly appreciated by our patients and staff.”
Clinical Matron for neonates, children and young people Nicola Howe said: “We would like to thank Cumbria Waste Group and Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation for their kind donations to our young patients.
I know how valuable these donations will be to these patients. Coming to a hospital may be daunting for young children but such generous donations will help improve their experiences in our hospitals.”
