THEY say music is good for the soul, but did you know that it is also good for the heart?
That’s because Our Hospitals Charity is hosting a Motown night to raise money to create a new space for heart research at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
When is it?
The fundraiser is on Friday 15 July, 7pm till late at Dormans club, Middlesbrough.
Great entertainment for a good cause
Ben Murphy, head of Our Hospitals Charity said: “We have got some great raffle prizes and entertainment from Teesside’s own ‘Mr Soul’ George Williamson, bringing you all the best soul and Motown hits.
“As well as our main act, we have a fantastic supporting act in Leandra Lane. Coming directly from Motown bloodline, Leandra has performed in private audiences for Michael Jackson, The Supremes, The Shirelles, and the Braxtons!
“All money raised is going to our Hearts + Minds Appeal, which is aiming to raise £650,000 to create a Cardiothoracic Research Facility at James Cook, which will help countless people in our region focusing on research that will prevent heart attacks.
It will be a night you don’t want to miss, so why not grab a ticket, put your dancing shoes on and help to raise a bit of money for your local hospital?".
