In recognition of Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month, University Hospitals Tees’ gynaeoncology team is inviting the public to a Vintage Tea Party on Friday 5 September.
Held at St Cuthberts Church in Marton, the event promises an afternoon of nostalgia and community spirit, complete with delicious tea and cake, a raffle, a bottle stand and wellness stalls.
Most importantly, it will raise awareness of gynaecological cancers — including cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulval cancer.
Attendees will have access to a range of wellness stands and support information, helping people understand the symptoms, risk factors, and importance of early detection and routine screening.
The event also aims to spotlight the support available to those affected by these types of cancer — whether directly or through a loved one.
Raising funds as well as awareness

Doors open at 10am and entry is just £3, with all proceeds going to Ova the Rainbow, a local gynaecological cancer support group, via Our Hospitals Charity.
“We want this to be a welcoming and uplifting space where people can enjoy themselves, while also learning more about gynaecological health,” said cancer care co-ordinator Grace Kelly.
“Education is key, and through this event we hope to encourage open conversations and earlier diagnosis.”
Anyone affected by gynaecological cancer — or simply wanting to learn more — is warmly welcome.
