Interventional Radiology & Fluoroscopy
After your scan you will be offered a warm drink to help ease and relax your abdomen.
If you had an injection of xray dye, you will be asked to remain in the xray department for approximately 15 minutes after your scan. The cannula (small flexible tube) inserted for your scan will be removed before you leave. Do not leave the department until the cannula is removed.
You may feel some mild bloating and discomfort in your abdomen from the carbon dioxide gas that was introduced into your bowel during your examination however, this should soon disappear.
If you have been given an injection of the muscle relaxant (buscopan) and you experience any redness or pain up to 24 hours after the scan then please seek advice from your G.P.
