Wall press up

Stand with your feet a stride away from a wall (Fig A) and rest your hands at shoulder level, and shoulder width apart on the wall (Fig B).
Relax and breathe as you bend your arms to bring your head towards the wall (Fig C), then push arms straight to get back to the start (Fig B).
Knee press up

Rest your knees on the floor or bed (Fig A) and push your arms straight (Fig B).
Breathe and relax while you do a mini press up through the range you can manage, keeping your trunk steady.
Plank

Lie on the floor on your front.
Position your forearms on the floor in a triangle and tuck your toes under your feet (Fig A).
Breathe whilst you push yourself up from the floor and try to keep your trunk steady in a straight line (Fig B).
