Stand with your feet hip width apart (Fig A).
Soften your knees then gently straighten them whilst tightening your thighs (Figs B and C).
Ensure you keep your back straight throughout the exercise (Fig D).
To progress raise your heels from the floor keeping your knees straight (Fig E).
Use support if required.
